On July 5th, TPG Telecom launched the world's first 700MHz 5G independent networking (SA) network in Australia. The equipment supplier is Nokia.

The above-mentioned 700MHz 5G network is currently being launched in parts of Sydney. The 700MHz 5G coverage is the largest, which will enable TPG Telecom to provide its customers with ubiquitous outdoor 5G services and deep indoor 5G coverage in cities and suburbs.

Nokia is providing TPG Telecom with AirScale products based on ReefShark, including tri-band remote radio units supporting 700 MHz, 850 MHz and 900 MHz frequency bands ---supporting 3G, 4G and 5G wireless access networks at the same time.

"TPG Telecom's 700MHz low-band 5G network will expand our 5G coverage, support us to complete the set goal of'covering 85% of the population of Australia's top six cities by the end of the year' on time and with quality, and will change the connection between people and things. TPG Telecom’s 5G network approach.” said Barry Kezik, the executive general manager of TPG Telecom in charge of mobile communications and fixed-line networks.

Robert Joyce, Chief Technology Officer of Nokia Oceania Region, said: “Nokia is the first to support another 5G world. We have specially developed our unique tri-band radio solution with them.”
